Milk & Cookies Kids Art show + TOMS Kids for Kids launch

milkandcookiesflyer6001

This past Saturday, March 12th, Active hosted the Milk & Cookies Kids Art Show at the Irvine Spectrum along with the TOMS shoes Kids for Kids Collection launch and Style Your Sole Event.

There definitely was not a lack of creativity present.  TOMS set up their DIY stations with everything from puffy paint, sequins, paint pens, feathers, glitter – you name it!  Kids and adults had a chance to add their artistic flare to blank TOMS shoes purchased at the event.  Musical guest Summer Watson got the day started with an acoustic set of her own songs, as well as some kid-friendly covers, and The Hindu Pirates took the stage later with their energetic get-up-and-dance performance.  Kid Creature, a native to Orange County, set up shop selling his amazing tees and lending his creative talent to some of the kids shoes.

All art featured in the show was created by kids and showcased their incredible creativity and imagination.  In addition, the show featured 10 collaborative pieces from world renowned artists and their kids: Gomez Bueno and daughter Costa, Ben Brough and daughter Lola, Jamie Lynn and niece Spencer Anderson, Sticky Shaw and nephew Shaw Sabori and niece Charlie Sabori, Mary Kingman and daughter Novella, Sophie St. Onge and daughter Sasha, and Torrey Cook and daughter Levi.  There were also three original pieces on display from professional snowboarder and artist Jeffrey Lin Anderson, on loan from his family.

The day was a huge success and a big ‘THANK YOU’ goes out to everyone involved!

Proceeds from the artwork sold at this show bennefited the JLA Project (www.iamjla.org) and SEEDS Arts and Education, Inc. (seedsed.org).
