This never gets old and the people are always getting younger, even the legends, they’re not that old… The Vans Pool Party this year was gnar as every year. Chris Miller wins Legends & Tom Schaar nailed the Mens Pro. I was burnt out the whole day and left early only to miss out on some of the historical moments that went down such as when Pedro Barros transferred over the never been done section of the Combi! ahhh… well, so here are some photos I took being present.
We joined in celebrating a new era of print excellence from The Skateboard Mag at BLACK. What an honor to be there surrounded by legends in skateboarding. This issue is a really special one considering a living legend is on the cover and that it’s the first issue released with The Berrics backing it. Congrats to Guy Mariano on the cover! Also congrats to The Skateboard Mag & Berrics. The new printed issue looks awesome!
Vans introduced the concept of upgrading their classic shoe models in Syndicate and Legends lines a few years back. The idea was to tweak a classic shoe by adding slight padding and minimal reinforcement to offer better skate performance. The team loved the shoes and soon began requesting the new insoles to wear in their classics. It only made sense to begin releasing upgraded “Classics” as “Pro Classics” in Vans regular rotation such as the Half Cab Pro and now the Era Pro.
The Vans Era Pro is essentially an Era with a bit more padding in the tongue and side panels, a performance foot bed, a re-enforced “duracap” vulc toe cap and an upgraded “tuff tech” suede upper. It offers increased durability and performance while staying lightweight and flexible. And of course it’s got that secret formulated waffle grip!
I highly recommend you pick a pair of these up today. They are built to skate and the colorways are the best. Also, check out the limited Spitfire X Vans Era Pro Colab here, can’t go wrong!
