Krochet Kids International + Active Ride Shop

Krochet Kids International is an amazing group of people who are doing their part to empower others to rise above poverty. Working with women in Northern Uganda, the Krochet Kids are equipping them with assets, skills, and knowledge to bring themselves, and their families out of poverty.  The Krochet Kids, with your help, are working to create long lasting and sustainable change in these communities.

This year, Active has partnered with the Krochet Kids with to support their We Are the Future of Change campaign. In support of this, every Active Ride Shop retail store is collecting donations for their cause.  Stop into any of our stores today and drop some change in the jar!  You can also support the Krochet Kids by picking up a t-shirt at any of our Active Ride Shop locations!  New women’s tees now available at all stores!

You can read more about Krochet Kids and their story at krochetkids.org.

3rd Annual GIVE Event with Krochet Kids + TOMS Shoes

Last Saturday, August 13th, Active partnered up with Krochet Kids and TOMS Shoes to host the 3rd annual GIVE Event at the Irvine Spectrum Center. TOMS brought out over 30 artists who were on hand to lend their artistic talent to customize TOMS shoes, while the Korchet Kids, in support of their ‘We are the Future of Change‘ campaign, had games like plinko, ring toss, goldfish, and more to raise awareness and collect change for the women and children in Uganda.   The music line-up was awesome with bands Levanter, Los Coyotes, The Alla-Las, Kiven, and the Pawnshop Kings, plus DJ Mike Robles.  Thanks to everyone who made it out to the event!  And to those of you who didn’t – we hope to see you next year!  Check out the video below for a look at this year’s GIVE Event.

A big thanks to Vestal and Keep A Breast for coming out as well!

Our friends at Sounds Like A Movement put together a Podcast of the event with interviews, music, and more. Check it out – here.
