To celebrate the release of the new Hook Ups x Etnies collab, the homies at Etnies invited the selected shops to a dinner at Jeremy Klein‘s go-to Korean BBQ spot, Cham Sut Gol in Garden Grove, CA. We definitely got stuffed. Thanks to Jeremy & Etnies for an awesome dinner!
You’ve seen the photos, now watch the full clip! Video footy from the grand opening of the new Active Fresno location as well as the Etnies demo right after at Lions Park. Featuring: Julian Davidson, Nick Garcia, Jamie Tancowny, Aidan Campbell, & Chris Joslin!
We headed up on our way to Fresno aka FresYES aka FresGNAR for the grand opening of the new spot. Active Fresno is the farthest up north but technically Central California. We come in peace! Thanks to the Fresno locals for welcoming Active into the area. Here are some photos from the Grand Opening & Skate Jam with the Etnies team at Lions Den Skatepark.
Active team rider, Chris Joslin proves that you get what you pay for in this segment from The Berrics.

Two French-skater owned brands (etnies & Magenta) have joined together to create a footwear and apparel collection celebrating mutual rider, Koichiro Uehara. The collaboration was influenced by Koichiro’s Japanese homeland by paying homage to old world Japanese culture and it’s traditional artwork.

We held War of the Stores last week at The Etnies Skate Park of Lake Forest. We had Active Army riders come from all over Southern California. Many of the teams came correct with strategy and a proper team, including Temecula to defend their title.
It was a quick and dirty jam style format on three different obstacles. Big thanks to Devine Calloway, Nick Garcia and Tucker from etnies for judging the contest.
At the end of it after all the points were calculated, it was a no brainer. With Gonzalo on the stair set and Chris Gregson tearing apart the bowl, Costa Mesa takes it this year. Walking away with $1000 in cash and prizes.
Temecula didn’t came to far behind with second place.
This is Active Army, This is Skateboarding.
Special shout out and thanks to Team BK, Carter, Candice, Megan and everyone at Etnies, Altamont and Emerica for making War of the Stores 2011 possible.

What team will take the crown this year?
If you happen to be anywhere on Wednesday September 14th… You should stop by the ThirtyTwo HQ in Lake Forest for the Ammo & Shoot the Moon video premiere! It’s open to the public, free drinks from Papst (if you’re over 21), free tacos and music by DJ Nathanetics.
I’m going just for the free drinks.
