Recap photos from the night we went out to the sold out Maxo Kream show with special guest, Fredo Santana. We had one of the fanciest steak dinners I’ve ever had thanks to our friends at DC right before. What a night. Thanks to Masked Gorilla & DC!
Photos from the Grand Opening celebration of the newest West Covina location. Lines were packed in the morning for the mystery gift card deal and followed by an Element Team Signing. Element also brought out their No Board Left Behind program. Our friends Mikey & Andy from DC Shoes came out to give a free pair of DC’s with every purchase that day. Thanks to everyone for cruising out!
Last week we posted the photo recap. But what I didn’t get on photo most likely is on video. Here’s the video recap filmed by Marque Cox & Kyle Estrada. Enjoy!
After a brief hiatus since the one before, the War of the Stores this year held at The Berrics. All 25 Active Ride Shop locations hailing from Southern California brought out their Active Army team . Everybody was ripping indeed, but only one held the title of best team and the $2,000 cash prize. Special thanks to DC Shoes & The Berrics for making this year possible!
Photos from the opening reception of “Heaven”, the rise & fall of the infamous pro skateboarder, Lennie Kirk. A book release with DC Shoes through the photographs of Lennie’s long-time friend & renowned photographer, Dennis McGrath. More also in the photo show were photos by other friends who have documented throughout Lennie’s skate career featuring: Gary Van DeGriek, Patrick O’Dell, Jonathan McGrath, Keith Hufnagel, & Mike Blabac.
DC Shoes welcomes the two best kept secrets, California’s T-Funk & Canada’s Bobby De Keyzer to their already epic line-up. Must watch! But fasten up your seat belts, it’s a gnarly ride.
Trails of excitement flows through as Active Ride Shop begins a new chapter since its long existence established in 1989. Active Redlands is the 22nd shop location, but the first of many more to come in the next few years with Active Oxnard opening a week after. Our friends at DC Shoes came through with Matt Miller, Tom Schaar, Felipe Gustavo, Nyjah Huston, & Josh Kalis. Matt Miller was there early giving out free pairs of his new pro model shoe, what a nice guy! Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate the new shop opening! We truly appreciate it!

We are super hyped to be out here in DC for the Maloof Money Cup. Maloof built a sick ass park for the contest. It reminds me a bit of Stoner park or some of the newer street plaza parks in LA and the best part is that they are leaving it here when they leave!
For the first day of the contest Maloof ran the Pro Qualifiers and Semi-Finals. The day was packed with super muggy weather, a small rain delay and a ton of exciting skating. Standouts for me were, Heath Kirchart’s contest appearance, Bobby Worrest, Andrew Reynolds & Collin Provost. There was a lot that went down, but I’ll let the photos tell the story. And ohh, if you are able to get to the contest Sunday, be sure to stop by the Active Ride Shop tent and say hi. If not, you can watch it on streaming on YouTube here.Error loading Flickr gallery
