By far, the best labor day weekend @ FYF Fest! This two-day festival was held at L.A.’s Historic Park nearby Downtown. Headlining acts such as Refused, M83, Warpaint, Dinosaur Jr., Beirut, Twin Shadow, The Faint, among many other great bands performed as well as Stand-Up Comedy acts. Definitely an awesome way to spend your last days of Summer! If you weren’t there, that sucks for you! Here’s quick photo recap/story of the happening:
The Agenda Trade Show is where your favorite streetwear, skateboarding, & fashion brands come together to show their new lines & hard goods for retailers, such as Active, and to discover up-coming brands. There were a bunch of hi-fives and meeting new people. But admit it, most people were there for the after-parties!…
Active Army riders are highlighted in this Fall collection video, this time hitting the streets of LA in the wee hours. Featuring Matt Miskel, Reemo Pearson, David Munoz, Taylor Forney, Jeremy Leabres, Alex Valdez, Anthony Pshebelski, Chris Harris, Sean Hill, and Nugget Aka Xavier! Filmed/Edited by Cox. Enjoy!

The Pro-Tec Pool Party went on last Saturday at Vans Skate Park in Orange. It was an great seeing O.G.’s like Steve Alba, Jeff Grosso, Christian Hosoi, & the original Bones Brigade crew shredding the Masters contest; Tony Hawk, Mike McGill, Steve Cabellero, & Lance Mountain. Despite of the TONS of coverage already up online, here are some photos I took while from a distance…Error loading Flickr gallery
For the 10th year Active Ride Shop dragged its top players to Mammoth for late season fun in the sun and snow. Players were treated to Oakley’s poker night at Lakanukie and amazing live performance by Ezekiel band the Fling. By the way, they saved the party weekend because Neon Indian had to cancel last minute. GO Mark Willingham for pulling strings like a bowse! Partied out Active heads arouse each morning to Analog/Gravis prepared bagels and Mimosa’s and Sabre got down with Bloody’s to put the pep back in their step, so heads could shred. Another highlight of the weekend was Matix Savage Games which featured a brutal obstacle course of tricycling, pogo sticking, beer bonging and pie eating… oh yeah these boys and girls snowboarded too.
A HUGE THANKS goes to Oakley, Matix, Spy, Ezekiel, Burton, Vestal, Analog, Gravis, Vans, Signal Snowboards, Sabre Vision, Mammoth Mountain, Forum, Special Blend, 32, Penny Skateboards, Volcom, Rome Snowboards, LRG, and Gnarly for making this trip happen this year.

It was a nice sunny day after a rainy one at the Wild West Arena in Winchester, CA. The beauty behind the lifestyle of doing it yourself & building your own is the story behind all these choppers, bobbers, & hot rods. This can relate to the skateboarding world in so many ways, that’s why most of these people are skateboarders or have a history in skateboarding! Despite of all the different cliques, garage shops, & motorcycle clubs, they were all gathered here for the love of what they live… to ride! It’s a close knit community. In the end, they were all “here for the beer!”
