Greg Lutzka wins men’s street title at Slam City Jam skateboard championships

CALGARY (CP) – Greg Lutzka won the $100,000 Slam City Jam professional skateboarding competition while two Canadians finished in the top four at Stampede Park Sunday.
Ryan DeCenzo of Delta, B.C., and Magnus Hanson of Surrey, B.C., finished third and fourth, respectively.
Lutzka, 21, scored a best run of 94.50 points and earned $15,000 in first-place prize money, finishing ahead of Australia’s Chad Bartie, who had 86.25 points.
DeCenzo scored 85.00 points while Hanson posted a total of 82.25.
They were two of nine Canadian amateurs who finished in the top 40.
Sascha Daley of Courtenay, B.C., the 19-year-old who won the Canadian amateur crown on Friday, finished eighth.
In the men’s vert competition, 18-year-old Rob Lorifice won his first championship title on the World Cup of skateboarding international tour. He also earned $15,000 in championship prize money.
California teenager Lacey Baker won the women’s street title earlier in the day.
In the women’s vert final, Karen Jones of Brazil swept six first-place scores to win her first North American crown.
