Janu and the WhalesharksJanu and The Whalesharks paid a visit to our Irvine Spectrum store this past Saturday. The band put on an amazing, creative, and energetic show in front of one of the best turnouts for an in-store I’ve seen in a while! They even got the crowd involved, handing out tambourines and shakers to people in the audience! Fronted by brother and sister Jake and Sarah Pappas, and with Jared Slaybaugh and Jesse Dorman, the band has an awesome indie-rock folk sound combined with catchy lyrics that keeps them from being classified under one genre. But, this stylish four-some isn’t made up of just talented musicians, they also give back, donating a portion of their merch sales to Until Then, a charity that is raising awareness about the issues of street children around the world. Check out the photos of the band’s performance, and stay tuned for more Active in-store musical appearances in the future!
