IMG_1872Elwood and Active teamed up to bring our one of the best skateboarding teams in the world and some great promotions to Southern California for Earth Day, April 22nd. The entire Elwood Team including Dan Drehobl, Kenny Anderson, Anthony Pappalardo, Vincent Alvarez, Marquis Henry, and Silas Baxter Neal were all in the house.
The day was long and successful. It started out with meeting up at Kenny Anderson’s house where the team skated Kenny’s pool. From Kenny’s the posse took the WVO powered Mercedes and two Toyota Prius’ to Channel Street Skatepark in San Pedro. From the skatepark the Elwood team and crew headed over to Long Beach Active for a signing and a check in to see how the promotions were going. If you brought in an old pair of jeans, you’d get a discount on a new pair of Elwoods. If you brought in an old pair of Elwood jeans, you’d get a NEW pair of Elwood jeans, free of cost. Elwood also brought out a ton of stuff for give-a-ways and hooked up a ton of people who came out for Earth Day celebrations.
From Active Long Beach the party started once the Elwood team arrived at Active Santa Monica where there was a bunch of complimentary food, free gear, special guest Pro appearances, art installations, and a live performance by Mt Egypt. Some of the special guests who showed up for the last stop of the Elwood Earth Day crazy train were: Guy Mariano, Steve Berra, AVE, Danny Montoya, Danny Garcia, Chad Tim Tim, Scuba Steve, Raymond Molinar, Braydon Szafranski, Spanky, and more!
Thanks to Elwood and Kenny Anderson for making Earth Day 2008 the most successful day of giving back thus far! Also a huge ‘Thanks’ to everyone else who was involved in this project. A video documenting the entire day to follow soon!
