Last Thursday, the girls over at Billabong invited us to their annual shop night where we had the chance to preview their upcoming Fall/Winter collections, snack on tasty treats, and hang out with the rad women of Billabong.
These were some of my personal favorites, and can be seen in Billabong’s “Designers Closet” collection. Versatile party dresses, trendy coats, and of course a surf/skate feel that is true to Billabong’s roots, are very apparent in their collections for Fall and Holiday.
The creative team at Billabong put together an awesome camp themed display complete with vintage boots, great printed blankets, and musical instruments perfect for any camping adventure, not to mention key pieces from their upcoming line. I am so excited for this product to land in stores!! Be sure to stop by Active to stock up on Fall fashions for 2012!!
That’s right, Ladies!!! After much anticipation, the first delivery of Obey jewelry has landed in select Active locations! We are one of the few lucky retailers who get to cary this collection so be sure to stop in and check it out. They have some great pieces that are perfect for spicing up your favorite look this summer!
The Obey Jewelry Collection is available at the following stores: Irvine Spectrum, Temecula, Rancho Cucamonga, Riverside, Long Beach, and Burbank.
As spring comes to an end and we enter into summer (the greatest season of the year, if you ask me!), we start to focus on one of my personal favorite accessories; sunglasses. This year the sunnie trends are big and with music festivals and outdoor activities in full swing you can be sure that you will see a lot of these great spectacles. This season Active Ride Shop has all of your favorite sunnie trends with a selection from brands like Sabre, Ray Ban, Ashbury, Electric, and Spy, to name a few. Here are two styles that I’m totally loving this season:
This lens is a great way to show your feminine side and is reminiscent of the 60’s when women sported these with pencil skirts and red lips. The SABRE Love Doll is the perfect pair if you’re looking for a good cat-eye. Plus, it comes in black and tortoise, so you can have a pair to go with every outfit!
The wayfarer style is as classic as it get’s. Ray Ban has offered this iconic frame since the 50’s and it hasn’t lost it’s appeal yet. It the perfect style and looks great on everybody! Available in black gloss and tortoise – it doesn’t get much more classic than that!! And, so many other brands are getting on the trend that you can find even more styles and colors from brands like SABRE, ACTIVE, Ashbury, and Oakley.
The sun is coming out and school is almost over which can only mean one thing; SUMMER! If your closet is filled with old winter clothes don’t fret, Active has you covered. There are so many different pieces that cater to any Active Girl’s unique style.
This summer try out some bright colors. My favorite summer color this year is good ole’ green. It makes a statement and is easily paired with anything white, denim or black. I’ve already picked up some summer essentials and you can too! Visit your local Active and check out these awesome fashion pieces!

Last weekend the Active crew headed up to Mammoth Mountain for a little adventure. Although it’s technically a trip for the guys, this year the ladies decided we’d have a presence as well. It was an awesome 3 days full of laughing, snowboarding, great company, and the first annual Savage Games!
We all piled into a tour bus and made the treck up to the mountains. About half way up back luck struck and our bus broke down! A few minor repairs and we were on our way.
We made it to Mammoth at about 8:00pm on Sunday night. Oakley set up a rad poker game at Lakanukie bar, a great spot in town. We then headed over to Hyde bar to watch The Fling, thanks to Ezekiel, jam the night away with great tunes!!
The next day was the Savage Games tournament (thanks to Matix and Beer Savage!) where we broke up into teams and battled it out in everything from beer bongs to eating pies as quick as we could.
Overall the trip was a major success, and we couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. Until next year Mammoth!!
Last Saturday I got to groove to new and legendary hip hop beats at the Paid Dues Festival at the NOS center in good ol’ San Bernardino. The 88 degree weather didn’t stop me from watching Wu-Tang’s early 4 o’clock set. Even though I was uncomfortably sweaty, it was awesome to hear the rest of the Wu-Tang clan pay tribute to the late ODB as they played his hit “Shimmy Shimmy Ya”. Wu-Tang had everyone in the crowd jumping and throwing up the WU sign to hits like “Bring Da Ruckas” and “C.R.E.A.M”. I was hyped!
I also had the pleasure of seeing Boom Camp Clik, Hieroglyphics, Living Legends, Odd Future, and Dipset perform. Living Legends had the best performance hands down. I threw up the “L” as they performed their hits “Never Falling Down” and “She Wants Me.”
I’ve heard stories about Odd Future shows and the craziness that happens, but I was not prepared for what I experienced. Colorful balloons decorated the stage as members of OF grilled hamburgers while performing. Mosh pits were created, people crowd surfed, and drinks were being thrown everywhere. It got a little too intense – I had to watch from the back!
As soon as OF finished their last song, I rushed to the front of the stage to watch Dipset perform. I was most excited about this performance but it ended up being the most disappointing. Although I was hyped that all four members (Cam’ron, Freekey Zekey, Jim Jones, and Juelz Santana) showed up, I could barely hear Cam’s voice. I was so disappointed! But, they did play my favorites “Dipset Anthem” and “Bout It, Bout It.”. Plus, it was pretty rad seeing OF bouncing in the front with the rest of the fans!
In between sets I visited the Active Booth where Luke was chillin’. He was having a good time too!
All in all it was an amazing night of hip hop! If you missed this year’s Paid Dues festival, here are some videos of the shows I saw! Can’t wait ’til next year!!

I haven’t even begun to think about what I’m going to wear! Luckily, at Active Ride Shop we have some awesome pieces this season that are perfect for Coachella, or any spring adventure.
For Spring Break I decided to pack my bags and take a road trip down to Phoenix, AZ to show some love and support for our boys on the Active AM team at Phx AM. After a long 6 hour drive, I was greeted by 95 degree weather and beautiful skies. AZ showed me a good time and I’ll definitely be back.
We out here!

Fashion is everywhere I go. I am constantly inspired by the people, and trends, and styles I come across. I attend Cal State Fullerton (Go Titans!) and it’s amazing how many different styles I see walking the campus. The other day, before heading to class, I stopped and talked to two lovely ladies with style all their own. Check out what inspires these girls!
Inspiration: bums, grandparents, and Lucille Ball
Style: Comfy, Vintage, Thrifty
Fashion Must Haves: Boy T-shirts
“Active has cool different types of t-shirts that have awesome graphics.”
Inspiration: Online websites and blogs
Style: Simple, Dark, Funky
Fashion Must Haves: High waisted Levi shorts, black sweaters, white tanks.
“Active has a great collection of Obey product and TOMS Shoes. They also have a good variety of men’s t-shirts that I love to cut into my own.”
These ladies definitely represent the “Active girl” and it just shows that Active has something for everyone. Stop into the Active store nearest you and check out all of the new Spring styles.
Next Friday, April 6th, join us at Active Chino for a special night as we celebrate TOMS Shoes and the “One for One” movement; for every pair of TOMS shoes purchased, a pair will be donated to a child in need. Come out and groove to music while you get your TOMS customized by one of our talented artists! Featured artists are Mando Castello, Danielle Gonzales, Courtney Bowers and many others! See y’all there!
Spring is here and that means it’s bikini season! Women’s swimwear has started to arrive in our stores and there are so many to choose from that I can’t decide! Volcom, B.Swim, O’Neill, and Billabong all have a bunch of different tops and bottoms to choose from so you can mix and match and have fun.
If you’re looking for color that going to pop, B.Swim is the brand for you. They offer a lot of different cuts, fabrics, and patterns to choose from with their Pop Rocks Collection and their solids. Kate Upton was spotted wearing a bikini from the Pop Rocks Collection in this year’s Sports Illustrated! B.Swim has great solids like the sassy blue Viking Bikini with great back detail and an amazing push up and the Canary Bikini in a bright yellow paired with their cheeky cupcake bottom.
O’Neill’s bikinis are feminine so you look cute and chic on the beach. The O’Neill Penny Ruffle Top is the perfect bikini top that goes great with a cute pair of shorts.
Billabong continued with another season of their Bob Marley Collection with a bikini in this year’s hottest trend, crochet. The One Love bikini is a must have this season and will have all eyes on you!
Volcom’s line is classic, flirty, and fun with bikinis in polka dots, stripes, and solids. No matter what bikini you choose this season, you can’t go wrong. Plus, they’ve got an amazing one piece with awesome cut-out detail!

One of my favorite springtime getaways is camping. Last weekend I spent a few days at Cachuma Lake in Santa Barbara. The weekend was filled with hikes, beautiful views, good food, and of course some essential camping outfits. My go-to attire for any weekend in a tent is comfortable sweatshirts, my favorite tees, and flannels. During the day a vintage tee, my chucks, and a comfortable pair of jeans was the way to go. And as the day went on and the sun set you could find me in camping boots, a cozy flannel, and the perfect sweatshirt. One of the highlights of our trip was breakfast! We feasted on potatoes, eggs with turkey hot dogs, and O.J. So good! This was the first of many camping adventures for me this year!
Hurley has some great pieces this spring that are perfect for any camping wardrobe.
